Roddy Ricch, has been arrested before his performance at the Governor’s Ball Music Festival

Just hours before he was set to play at the famed music festival Governor’s Ball in New York City, the rapper, actual name Rodrick Moore, was arrested and charged with various firearm charges.

A New York Police Department official informed E! News that the 23-year-old was arrested with two other people at Citi Field at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday after police responded to a call regarding a firearm inside a car.

Officers were notified that a private security company working at the arena had spotted a firearm in a vehicle entering a secure location of the venue, the rep said. Police found three men inside the vehicle, including Ricch, and arrested them. The officers also discovered a loaded firearm with nine rounds of ammunition, as well as a large-capacity magazine.

Rich and the other two males were charged with unlawful possession of an ammunition feeding device, criminal possession of a weapon, and possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device.

The Governor’s Ball music festival announced Ricch’s scheduled performance was cancelled in a Twitter tweet later that evening.

“Unfortunately, Roddy Ricch is no longer performing today,” they said.

In addition to Ricch, the three-day music festival’s Saturday programme included Halsey, Flume, Tove Lo, Joji, and other well-known musicians.

Kid Cudi, Jack Harlow, and Skepta were among the other artists who played during the weekend.
