QUETTA: During a snap checking, a suspected terrorist was detained by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police on Sunday. The suspect was planning to bomb the army vehicles, police departments, and judiciary buildings, a CTD spokesperson told the BOL news channel.
According to a CTD official, the bomb planted in the suspected terrorist’s motorcycle was detonated by the Bomb Disposal Squad. The suspect was identified as Nizam Uddin alias Khalid by the police. During the interrogation, he claimed to have targeted numerous places in Balochistan.

Having a group of eight the accused allegedly confessed to their group’s involvement in suicide attacks on DIG Hamid Shakeel. He also admitted to blowing up an RRG Force truck, an army vehicle, and a police vehicle at the University Chowk. The group also blew up an FC vehicle on Mekangi Road with an improvised explosive device (IED),” the spokesperson to CTD told.
Moreover, the group was also involved in a suicide attack at Serena Hotel Parking, Qandhari Bazaar, Bukhari Center, outside the main gate of Science College, killing several Hazara community people, he added.
The police are conducting additional investigations to arrest the other terrorists, the CTD official told.
