Dragon Age: Absolution, BioWare’s D&D-inspired franchise, will get a new six-episode anime on Netflix. Dragon Age: Absolution is a new programme set in the Tevinter Imperium, which has never been seen before.
So yet, nothing is known about the show. It’s produced by Red Dog Culture House, and Mairghread Scott is the showrunner. She’s worked on a variety of animated Transformers series as well as the animated Guardians of the Galaxy show.

We know it’s being produced in partnership with BioWare, who just unveiled the title of the next Dragon Age game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, last week. Absolution’s cast, characters, and narrative are all unknown at this moment, just as Dreadwolf’s.

However, in addition to humans, it appears to contain a large population of elves and Qunari. It’s no surprise that the trailer has a lot of magic, given that it’s set in a nation ruled by wizards (though the elf in the promotional art is giving some strong rogue vibes).
Anime will premiere in December 2022, and we’ll hopefully learn more about the programme at that time.
