Prince William of the United Kingdom was photographed on the streets of London on Thursday, peddling copies of the homeless magazine The Big Issue and using a card machine to entice potential buyers.

The future king wore the magazine’s official red baseball cap and blazer as he tried to persuade passers-by to buy a copy in the Westminster neighborhood.

Richard Hannant, 47, posed with the prince for a photo that his brother-in-law, Matthew Gardner, posted to LinkedIn.

“What an honor to have a private moment with our future king who was humble and working quietly in the background, helping the needy,” wrote Gardner.

“The finale to this unique occasion was when Prince William asked my brother-in-law if he wanted to buy the Big Issue, to which he replied: ‘I have no change’.

“At this point, William produced a mobile card machine. You cannot teach that!”

Neil Kramer, a cab driver, also posted a photo with the prince, who was hawking the magazine.

The outing comes after Britain celebrated his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s record-breaking 70 years on the throne for four days on Sunday.

William has long been involved in homelessness issues and has been a patron of the Centrepoint organisation since 2005.

He spent a night sleeping on the street with Centrepoint’s CEO in December 2009 to better understand the issues that young homeless people confront, according to the charity.

The 39-year-old is the most popular royal behind the queen, with 66 percent favourability, according to YouGov, with the public warming to his low-key manner and charity work.
