Brookside actor James Caroll has died

  • Friends verified on social media Thursday that ‘Brookside’ and ‘Coronation Street’ star James Caroll had died.
  • Between 1988 and 1991, he was most recognised for his role as Brian ‘Bumper’ Humphreys in the Channel 4 serial.
  • James, known to his friends as Jim, had a fatal illness. He’d done a YouTube interview about his experiences.

He had previously been ill with pneumonia in early 2020, but he recovered completely.

James’ most recent acting role was as an actor named Bob opposite Mary Taylor in Corornation Street in January (Patti Clare). James, who resided in Preston, Lancashire, is reported to have died abruptly.
