The Black Shark 5 Pro and the standard model have a lot in common. Both include 6.67″ AMOLED panels with 144Hz refresh rate (FHD+, Samsung E4), 720Hz touch sampling rate, and magnetic pop-up triggers, as well as stereo speakers.

The batteries are the same, with a capacity of 4,650mAh and a charging speed of 120W. (0-100 percent in 15 minutes or in 24 minutes in the battery-sparing mode). The batteries have a 1,200 charge cycle rating and can be bypassed (i.e. using external power while gaming).

Snapdragon chipsets are found in both devices. The Pro differs in that it has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and quicker RAM (6,400MHz vs. 5,500MHz). Instead, the Snapdragon 870 is used in the standard Black Shark 5. JoyUI 13 is pre-installed on both phones (based on Android 12).

The global prices for the two phones are listed in the table below. They’ll be available on the brand’s own website, its AliExpress store, and local Amazon locations.

One additional distinction between the phones, which we saved for last because it has no bearing on gaming: the cameras. The main camera of the Pro has 108MP (1.52″ sensor, 0.7m), while the vanilla has a 64MP sensor (0.7m).

The Pro also boasts a better macro camera, with a 5MP tele-macro sensor against 2MP with standard optics on the regular model.

The Black Shark JoyBuds Pro are also going global, in addition to the phones. TWS buds offer a 40ms low-latency gaming mode, 30 hours of total playback (quick charge, 15 minutes charging = 3 hours of playback), and IPX4 water resistant.
