- German Chancellor Olaf Scholz says his country is prepared to increase its military presence in Lithuania.
- After meeting with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and the prime ministers of Estonia and Latvia in Vilnius.
- Scholz told reporters, “We are ready to strengthen our engagement and turn it into a formidable battle brigade.”

In the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz says his country is prepared to increase its military presence in Lithuania. “Every millimetre of NATO’s territory will be defended,” he added.
