- Russia’s and Turkey’s defence ministers discussed a prospective grain export corridor between Ukraine to northern Syria.
- Ankara and Moscow prepare for talks between their foreign ministries.
- The call comes after Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said two weeks ago; that his country would undertake new military offensives against the Kurdish YPG in Syria.

During the call, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar told his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu that “actions aimed at disrupting the region’s stability will be met with the necessary response”; and that “the presence of terrorists in the region is not acceptable,” according to Turkey’s Defense Ministry. According to his office, Akar also “reminded that existing agreements on this matter must be respected.”
