According to Russian state media, a Russian general dies in Donbas on Sunday, citing the Telegram channel of a combat correspondent.
Russian official media and the Ukrainian Armed Forces identified the Russian commander as Roman Kutuzov.
“Kutuzov, a native of the Airborne Forces, led people into the offensive and perished in battle,” Russia 24 reported, citing military correspondent Alexander Sladkov’s Telegram channel.

Kutuzov also died, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Major General Roman Kutuzov, Commander of the [DPR’s] 1st Army Corps (Orcs), is formally denazified and demilitarized,” Ukraine’s Armed Forces announced on Facebook on Sunday.

According to Ukrainian independent news agency UNIAN writer Roman Tsymbalyuk, Kutuzov served as chief of staff of the 29th combined-arms army of the Eastern Military District of Russia before being dispatched to the Donetsk People’s Republic.
