Police in Afghanistan’s capital city Kabul have arrested as many as 2,000 people for involvement in illegal activities in the last month, as per the Afghan news agency.

The story cited Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Takar as saying that 859 cases of kidnapping, theft, drug smuggling, and car snatching had been filed in the previous month, with around 2,000 people arrested.
The official also stated that police officers will soon receive police uniforms, stating that “the issue of police uniforms has been finalised” and that the distribution process will begin in Kabul and Kandahar provinces.
