Lilibet Diana was born on June 4, 2021, in Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, California, and was named after Queen Elizabeth II.
Several members of the royal family wished her happy first birthday on Twitter.
The Queen saw her grand daughter for the first time this week in a secret visit in Windsor.

Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter, and grand-daughter of the royal family, celebrated her first birthday in her father’s hometown on Saturday. Several members of her royal family wished the baby girl a happy birthday on social media. The members of the royal family including Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, greeted her on Twitter.

The Queen saw her great-granddaughter for the first time this week in a secret visit in Windsor, according to Page Six. Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter was born on June 4, 2021, in Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, California, and was named after Queen Elizabeth II. Princess Elizabeth’s family nickname was first used when she was a child and couldn’t pronounce her own name correctly. Lilibet was given the name Diana as a middle name in honour of her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

Since early 2020, when they stepped down as senior royal family members, Harry and Markle have been residing in California. In February 2021, they announced their resignation. In April 2021, the duke left his wife, daughter, and their three-year-old son, Archie, at home as he travelled to England for his grandfather, Prince Philip’s, burial. Harry travelled to Kensington Palace alone in July 2021 to assist estranged brother Prince William at the unveiling of a monument to their late mother, Princess Diana.

Due to the Jubilee celebrations, Harry and Markle have had to postpone their first trip overseas as a family of four. The couple and their children did not appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony with the Queen, Charles, 73, William, 39, and other royal family members on Thursday. The pair has preserved their daughter’s privacy while raising her in their Montecito, Calif., home. In fact, Harry and Meghan kept her a secret for six months until revealing her on their Christmas card.
