Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not seem to reconnect with Prince William and Duchess Kate. During Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving On Friday, June 3, Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, arrived at St. Paul’s Cathedral for their first formal appearance during the ceremony.

On Thursday, June 2, the couple was seen during Trooping the Colour, however they did not observe from the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside William, 39, and Kate, 40. The Cambridge couple, however, did not join the Archewell co-founders inside the chapel on Friday. According to US Weekly, “Senior members of the royal family were seated in the front row and non-senior members in the second row.” After the two couples were “scrutinised” at the 2020 Commonwealth Day Service, the palace decided to “keep them on opposite sides of [the] cathedral to avoid any unwanted attention,” according to the source.
The Sussexes have returned to the United Kingdom for the first time as a family of four, with son Archie and daughter Lilibet, since their last engagement as senior royals in March 2020. Harry and the Suits alum moved to California after their choice to leave the Royal family, with the former military pilot travelling to London alone in April 2021 for the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, and in July 2021 for the inauguration of a monument honouring Princess Diana.

Since Harry and Meghan stepped down from major duties, their relationship with the Cambridges has been a hot topic among royal watchers. Before departing his senior role in October 2019, Harry stated that he and William were “on different paths,” and the brothers’ apparent rivalry only increased.
