Wang stated that China is eager to collaborate with Russia to uphold and practise the proper stance on democracy, development, security, and order, as well as to support the development of the global governance system in a more just and reasonable path.
The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Russian International Affairs Council jointly organised the event, which has been held yearly since 2018.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “high-quality growth of China-Russian economic cooperation,” “green cooperation,” and “global and regional governance.”
According to Russia’s foreign ministry, Lavrov briefed Wang on the status of military operations in Ukraine and Moscow’s dialogue with Kyiv.
“The parties recognised the detrimental character of the unlawful unilateral sanctions imposed on Russia by the US and its satellites,” the ministry said in a statement.
The two ministers decided to continue strengthening their strategic collaboration and to speak out on international issues “with a single voice,” according to the statement.
