As per junta’s communications team, one guy in his 30s died from his injuries after being carried to a hospital, while nine others were being treated.
The detonation was caused by a “homemade mine,” according to the report, which blamed the attack on “People’s Defence Force” fighters, which have popped up in response to the military’s violent crackdown on dissent.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the incident.
The bomb was criticised by a shadow government headed by MPs from Aung San Suu Kyi’s evicted party, which is attempting to overthrow the coup.
In a statement, the country’s defence ministry stated, “We strongly condemn this terrorist attack targeting people.”
