Within the next security assistance package, the US will deliver Ukraine far longer-range artillery rocket weapons. According to a source senior US administration officials revealed to reporters on Tuesday that the US will provide Ukraine HIMARS, or High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, as part of the country’s 11th package of security aid.
The systems will be supplied with armaments that will allow Ukraine to launch rockets up to 80 kilometres in the air, as previously stated.
“This is significantly less than the systems’ maximum range of roughly 300 kilometres, but far more than anything Ukraine has received to date.” “The M777 Howitzers that the United States deployed to Ukraine last month, for example, provided a considerable improvement in range and power over prior weapons, but even those only had a range of roughly 25 kilometres,” CNN notes.
The latest security support package, which will be officially unveiled on Wednesday, will include air surveillance radars, extra Javelin anti-tank weaponry, anti-armor weapons, artillery rounds, helicopters, tactical vehicles, and spare parts to assist the Ukrainians with equipment maintenance.
