The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+’s basic architecture has not altered from the original model. As a result, it retains a three-cluster architecture comprised of super-large core Cortex-X2, large-core A710, and small-core A510. However, the CPU’s maximum frequency has been boosted to 3.2GHz. In other words, its CPU performance has been boosted by 10%, and its GPU performance has also been improved by 10%.
Another significant difference between this processor and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is that the process technology has been altered to TSMC’s 4nm process. This is a more developed method. As a result, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+’s energy efficiency has substantially increased. The GPU power consumption of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is up to 30% lower than that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the Aztec Ruins benchmark test. Furthermore, under the same conditions, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+’s CPU power consumption is approximately 30% lower than that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
