Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram lately to post a flood of photographs of amazing Asian talent that made it big this time at the Cannes Film Festival and congratulated all the winners.
Among these photos, the Quantico actor shared one of Joyland’s crew, Pakistan’s first film entry to the Cannes Film Festival, which won the jury award in the Un Certain Regard and Queer Palm competitions.
The director of Joyland, Saim Sadiq, who is already overjoyed after earning this prestigious award, re-shared the Padmavaat star’s tale on his Instagram account and praised the worldwide celebrity in the post.
“Priyanka, Shukriya (Thank you),” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Chopra praised Sadiq once again by re-sharing his Instagram story on her account.
Previously, the film’s creators revealed a tear-jerking social media moment in which the film garnered a standing ovation from the crowd following its showing at Cannes.
To be specific, Joyland’s tale centres around a patriarchal family in Lahore that longs for a newborn boy to carry on their family lineage; nevertheless, their youngest son joins a dance theatre and falls in love with a trans woman.
