In recent years, smartphone penetration in Pakistan has reached unparalleled heights. A number of smartphone makers, including Xiaomi, Samsung, Tecno, Vivo, and others, have started local assembly in Pakistan from 2020.

As a result, costs have dropped, and a large portion of the population has purchased smartphones. However, we have seen a reduction since Q1 of 2021, which was confirmed by a recent analysis from IDC. Smartphone purchases have dropped by a stunning -21 percent, according to the survey.
