Epic Games has announced that it will conduct an in-person Fortnite competition in November, which will be the company’s first significant in-person competitive Fortnite event since the Fortnite World Cup in 2019.
The FNCS Invitational 2022 will take place in the Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina on November 12th and 13th.
Epic wrote in a blog post bylined by “The Fortnite Team” reads, “We will be inviting a selection of top FNCS Duos from around the world who will have the opportunity to compete in a single lobby for a share of a $1,000,000 prize pool.”
However, the business emphasises that player health and safety are “the number one priority for holding any in-person event,” and cautions that if “public health trends change or regional laws or recommendations shift at any point this year,” it may be forced to delay the event.

Epic has yet to confirm whether or not a Fortnite World Cup will be held in 2023. The first and only Fortnite World Cup, which took place in 2019, was a three-day spectacle with a $30 million prize pool.
However, Epic announced that the World Cup would be held in April 2020 because to the COVID-19 epidemic, and that there would be no World Cup in 2021 at the conclusion of that year. Epic has continued to conduct Fortnite events online, but the FNCS Invitational 2022 appears to signal that the company is interested in hosting in-person tournaments once more.
