Indian military have also commenced operations in the Pulwama district’s neighbouring areas. According to the news agency, troops broke into homes and insulted women.
Earlier this month, an Indian court sentenced Muhammad Yasin Malik, the Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, to life in jail in fabricated cases intended to punish him for his leadership role in the ongoing campaign for the independence of Jammu and Kashmir.
On May 19, Special Judge Praveen Singh of India’s infamous National Investigation Agency (NIA) officially convicted Yasin Malik. Yasin Malik, the leader of the Hurriyat Movement, has been convicted for allegedly providing financial aid to terrorists.
During the trial, Yasin stepped to the rostrum and declared that he was a law-abiding citizen who had lived his life in accordance with Mahatma Gandhi’s beliefs. He questioned why, if I was a terrorist, numerous Indian Prime Ministers met with me and why I was given an Indian passport.
Thousands of Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leaders and activists, have been detained by the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government and are being held in various jails in occupied Kashmir and India. They are being victimised by the Modi dictatorship because they are speaking out against India’s illegal annexation of their homeland and demanding their UN-recognized right to self-determination.
