The dead toll from the latest Russian MLRS strike in Kharkiv has risen to nine, with 19 persons reported injured. According to report, the chief of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, delivered the report on the air of a nationwide telethon.

“A 9-year-old child was among the 19 persons hurt so far. Sadly, nine people were killed, including a 5-month-old baby. Outside, a family was strolling. The father and infant died, and the woman is in critical condition in the hospital “the official continued.

According to Syniehubov, the shelling of Kharkiv was carried out using the Tornado and Smerch multiple rocket launchers and artillery, a modification of which is currently being verified by experts.

“The strikes were launched from the north of the region,” the official stated, “where our force is holding its ground and steadily driving the enemy toward the borders.”

He emphasised that exclusively residential areas were hit, implying that the enemy is scaring the civilian population, which has not been seen in recent weeks due to the Ukrainian Army’s success.
