A freight train carrying fiberglass left Yinchuan, the capital of northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, for Budapest, Hungary, on Thursday morning.
According to China Railway Lanzhou Group Co., Ltd., the 1,300 tons of fiberglass, valued at 10.5 million yuan (approximately 1.6 million US dollars), would travel 8,500 kilometres and arrive in 21 days.
It is the first China-Europe freight train to leave Ningxia this year, as well as the first route connecting the two cities.
The new route will significantly cut enterprise delivery times, as well as the pace at which items circulate and are paid for, and transportation expenses.
