Russia is one step away from defeat, it will agree to a ceasefire – Kuleba

Russia is now focused on the battle and will only agree to a ceasefire when it is one step away from defeating Ukraine in the conflict.

According to a reports, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba mentioned this at a press conference following his participation in the World Economic Forum.

“We agree that a ceasefire is important, but I tell you that the instant Russia agrees to one, it will be one step closer to defeat in the war. And they will agree to a ceasefire solely to avoid defeat in the war; yet, the fight will continue before that “he said.

Kuleba went on to say that Kyiv appreciates all efforts that lead to a diplomatic solution. At the same time, the minister emphasised that, given the circumstances on the ground and an examination of the Kremlin’s policies, Russia is more concerned with the war than with diplomacy.

Kuleba had previously stated on May 25 that Ukraine will not make any concessions to Putin since the plan of pacifying him from 2014 to the start of the full-scale invasion had failed and had no possibility of succeeding in the future.
