In Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s ongoing defamation suit, Kate Moss is set to testify. According to PEOPLE, a source close to Depp, 58, revealed that the supermodel, 48, will appear in court via video conference in Fairfax, Virginia on Wednesday.

Heard, 36, addressed Moss, Depp’s ex-girlfriend, on the stand earlier this month when discussing an alleged altercation between Depp and Heard’s sister, Whitney Henriquez. Henriquez was “in the line of fire… trying to get Johnny to stop,” according to the Aquaman 2 actress, which reminded her of a rumoured altercation between Moss and Depp.

According to PEOPLE, “[Whitney’s] back was to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her.” “I don’t hesitate, I don’t wait — I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs.”

Heard said, “And I swung at him,” referring to the alleged March 2015 confrontation involving herself, Henriquez, and Depp. Depp’s lawyers fist-pumped when Heard revealed Moss’ name during her testimony, possibly because it gave them the option of calling the model as an impeachment witness to deny the alleged occurrence. Heard first mentioned the Moss staircase accusation during her testimony at Depp’s defamation trial in the United Kingdom in 2020, according to The New York Post.

Meanwhile, Moss and Depp broke up in 1997 after four years of dating and a rumoured engagement, but reunited briefly at the Cannes Film Festival in May 1998. Depp is suing Heard for defamation, saying that her 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post about surviving domestic abuse injured his reputation and ruined his professional chances, despite the fact that she did not name him in the piece. He added that Heard’s claims against him cost him “nothing short of everything.”
