Punjab police have claimed having recovered the kidnapped girl, who was kidnapped from the Shad Bagh area of Lahore Sunday morning, from Pakpattan on Sunday night.

According to TV reports, the police along with the girl and accused would reach Lahore and expectedly produce her before the LHC.

According to details, a 17-year-old girl was kidnapped by motorists as she was going for matric exams along with her brother in the Shad Bagh area of Lahore.

Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti took notice of the abduction of the girl and ordered the Inspector General of Police (IG) Punjab to recover her by 6:00 pm Sunday.

The IG Punjab requested the LHC CJ to grant him time till Monday morning. The request was turned down by the CJ and warned the IGP of stern action against him and other police officials.

The CJ LHC directed the IG Punjab to recover the girl and submit a report to him today.

The CCTV footage of the incident showed the girl traveling along with her brother in a motorbike when a vehicle intercepted them. Four armed men disembarked from the car and forcefully dragged the girl into their vehicle while the others slapped her brother.

The police registered a case against the incident and started a search for the girl.

13 people the former fiancé of the girl, his parents and other suspects were arrested by the police.

“The man who provided them with a pistol is also arrested,” the sources said adding the pistol has also been recovered.

The police shared that the suspects took the girl to Kasur after the abduction. “We are also after remaining suspects and will soon arrest them,” they said.
