Thousands of Britons are reported to have joined the Royal Family; in offering refuge to Ukrainians fleeing war in their homeland.

Members of the Firm have pledged to ‘play their part’ by sheltering these people in their time of need; but insiders say they have ‘no desire’ for publicity.

Over half of the 53,800 Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in the UK; under visa programmes are part of the Homes for Ukraine initiative.

‘We are aiding in a number of ways, but will not be talking further,’ a Buckingham Palace spokesman told.
The palace has been approached for more information on which royals are sheltering refugees and where they are being housed.

During World War II, the castle was used to host royal refugees, including Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands and Norway’s King Haalon and his son Prince Olaf, who fled the Nazis in 1940.

In a ’emotional’ encounter with families fleeing Vladimir Putin’s invasion, the Prince of Wales said last month that he hopes Britain is hospitable to Ukrainians.
