FM Bilawal Bhutto to visit China at invitation of Chinese counterpart

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to pay a two-day-official visit to China on May 21 at the special invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Jiechi.

Minister of State for External Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and senior Foreign Ministry officials will be part of the foreign minister’s delegation.

During the visit, the Foreign Minister will hold extensive consultations with his Chinese counterpart and the two officials will review all aspects of bilateral relations with a special focus on trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.

As per details, progress on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Belt and Road Initiative flagship project will also be discussed. The two sides will also conclude important regional and international issues at large.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s visit will also mark the 71st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Earlier, State Councilor Wang Zhi wrote a letter congratulating Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on assuming the office of Foreign Minister.

The two Foreign Ministers had earlier held a virtual meeting on May 11, 2022
