PM Shehbaz to visit Karachi today to meet business community, party workers

PM Shehbaz visits different areas in Lahore without protocol

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Karachi for a day trip to meet members of business community and party workers today (Friday).

The premier will also attend a ceremony at the Karachi Shipyard and Enginering Works as a chief guest, after that he will have a meeting with the representatives of business community to take their suggestions on the precarious economic situation.

The meetings are scheduled at the Sindh Chief Minister house where he will also meet the local party leaders. As per details available to Bol News, the premier is not scheduled to meet Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leaders yet.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to address the nation soon after his Karachi visit,  sources informed Bol News. The decision in this regard was taken after a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif. PM Shehbaz is expected to draft a shared charter with all coalation partners being its signatory.

The former prime minister has directed Shehbaz to take all coalition partners in confidence on all political and economic decisions.

Expressing grave concerns on the deteriorating economic condition, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar, earlier, expressed fear that Pakistan is only weeks away from becoming Sri-Lanka. He said that the guidelines for the decisions regarding Pakistan are being taken from a convict.

He said, “Miftah is looking up to Shehbaz Sharif, Shehbaz is looking up to Ishaq Dar, Dar is looking up to Nawaz Sharif, Nawaz is looking up to Zardari and Zardari is looking up to – no one knows.”

Asad Umar said that Pakistan’s economic condition is worsening every day, adding that [Prime Minister] Shehbaz Sharif is incapable of taking decisions. He said that the foreign reserves have depleted by 37 per cent since the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan became successful.
