The owner of Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi, has pledged economic support to Sri Lankan cricket in the midst of the economic downturn. By extending a sponsorship offer, a prominent Pakistani businessman has expressed his devotion to Sri Lankan cricket.
Sri Lankan cricket, like everything else in the country, is in jeopardy due to economic and political difficulties. As Sri Lanka faces financial difficulties, Javed Afridi has stepped up to assist the sport’s success.
In this regard, Javed Afridi tweeted, “The people of Sri Lanka love cricket as much as we Pakistanis do, however, the current situation is not so favourable, and these conditions must have affected Sri Lankan cricket fans.”
The people of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰love cricket as dearly as we Pakistanis do but the current not so good situation must’ve hurt Lankans cricket fans. So I extend my full support to sponsor @OfficialSLC in best of my capacities to maintain their international status in world cricket area.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have traditionally maintained close relations in cricket. Following terrorist threats, the two countries worked together to resurrect local cricket.
Pakistan has also decided not to cancel the men’s and women’s teams’ scheduled tours to Sri Lanka. The Girls in Green will travel to Sri Lanka in May, with the Babar-led team playing two Test matches in July.
