Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s foreign minister, said his country has “no choice but to win this war,” ruling out any possible concessions to Russia in exchange for a ceasefire.
Kuleba told that the current crisis is “a struggle for our existence” and that Ukraine must stop Russian soldiers immediately.
He went on to declare that he was sending a message to ambassadors all across the world to “stand by Ukraine.”
“We understand that we have no other choice but to win this war because it’s a war for our existence.”
Mr. Kuleba stated that victory in the war would mean restoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
Potential concessions to Russia that could lead to a ceasefire in the war have been ruled out by Ukraine’s foreign minister.
He said: “This is an unprovoked war. Neither Ukraine, nor Europe, nor NATO, nor the US provoked Putin to do what he is doing and therefore he must bear full responsibility for that.
“Looking for face-saving options for Putin is simply a false approach. Let Putin himself find a face-saving option.”
