I’m still focused on the job, says Twitter CEO after Elon Musk puts deal on hold

Parag Agarwal, the CEO of Twitter, has posted a thread on the microblogging platform, commenting on recent changes in his staff and explaining why certain decisions were made.

Elon Musk’s $44 billion deal to buy Twitter was put on hold when Twitter sacked two senior executives and Elon Musk disclosed the firings.

“Some have questioned why a ‘lame-duck’ CEO would make adjustments if we’re going to be acquired anyhow,” Agarwal remarked.

“The short response is straightforward: while I expect the acquisition to close, we must be prepared for any eventuality and always act in Twitter’s best interests. I’m in charge of leading and administering Twitter, and our mission is to make Twitter better every day “He sent out a tweet.

He stated that Twitter employees do not work for the sake of working. The company is committed to making the platform better.

“At Twitter, no one works solely to keep the lights on.” We are proud of what we do. We’re here to improve Twitter as a product and business for customers, partners, shareholders, and all of you, regardless of the company’s future ownership,” he added.

Agar also stated that the agreement would not be used to dodge serious talks.

“Some have also questioned why manage expenditures now rather than after the close? Right now, our industry is operating in an extremely difficult macro environment. I’m not going to use the deal as an excuse to delay making crucial decisions for the company’s future, and I’m not going to use it as an excuse to avoid making significant decisions

“So, what might you expect from me in the future? I’m still focused on getting the job done, which means making difficult decisions when necessary. I’ll keep embracing the profound complexity of our service and industry. And you may expect more positive changes in the future “The Twitter CEO penned a letter.

He also stated that he will endeavour to improve “the public dialogue on Twitter” by refraining from tweeting about “the topic of the day or the loudest sound bite.”

Finally, he conveyed his gratitude, thanking the entire Twitter crew for remaining focused and agile.

“Finally, a huge thank you to our entire Twitter staff. They have remained concentrated and strong, as well as sharp and agile. They’ve been going about their business as usual. Onward, “he wrote.

He supplied the link to the formal and official details of the deal that he had referenced earlier in the thread in his last tweet.
