The Indian men’s hockey squad was given a major setback on Friday when captain Rupinder Pal Singh was ruled out of the 2018 World Cup.

Nilam Sanjeep Xess has taken Rupinder’s place in the team. On May 23, the Asia Cup will begin in Jakarta. India is the tournament’s defending champion.
