NASA, the American space agency, has issued a warning that a big asteroid is on its way to Earth.
NASA is tracking the space rock Asteroid 388945 (2008 TZ3), which will pass close to Earth on May 16 at 2.48 a.m. local time.
The asteroid is predicted to be broader than 960 feet, according to NASA. It is 50 times the height of a giraffe and nearly the same size as the Eiffel Tower.
If the asteroid impacts, the results might be disastrous. NASA’s projections, on the other hand, reveal that the asteroid is nearly 5.7 million kilometres from Earth.
NASA has designated the approaching incident as a “near approach” because the distance is not great in space terms.
Asteroid 388945 also visited us in May 2020, according to NDTV, and was even closer to us.
