Hilaria Baldwin discusses the “competition” among online mommy influencers

Hilaria Baldwin spoke out about the ‘cutthroat competition’ that exists among online mommy influencers, urging them to be a positive force and restore the community’s authenticity.

Taking to Instagram, Alec Baldwin’s wife, who is expecting his seventh child, wrote a lengthy message to fellow mom influencers.

“The online mom space is a tricky one,” the 38-year-old wrote. “Initially, it was about sharing tips, learning from one another, and creating a community to know that we are not alone while doing a very difficult (yes, amazing) job.”

“Then consumerism stepped in,” she continued. We’re all involved in this, whether we work with brands or buy. Our children and this chapter in our lives are so important to us that we have become the most expensive demographic. How cool is it that we get to share products that make our lives and the lives of our children easier?!”

Hilaria continued, “Unfortunately, we have been conditioned to feel that we must compete with other women whenever there is money involved,” and how few “pirates” are taking over the space.

“So what was supposed to be a place for camaraderie and helping our girlfriends has devolved into cutthroat competition for a very silly and immature hierarchy.”

“The good news is that the internet is vast, and while there can be fake things and mean people, there are mostly good people who want the best for themselves and for all of us,” the yoga instructor continued.

“We simply cannot be intimidated into remaining silent.” Speak up, loudly and proudly. “We need it, and our children need it, to get the future on the right track,” she added. “I want you to know that YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE…A GOOD ONE.”

“By being a positive force and being a part of what this community was intended to be.” We will remain strong, and we will be able to restore the majority’s authenticity and kindness. “Love you.”
