Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) launched with Android 12

Samsung has discreetly released a 2022 version of a 2020 item. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite slate has been updated and is now available for pre-order on Amazon Italy. On May 23, shipments and sales will commence.

When comparing the original and 2022 edition spec sheets, the biggest difference is the Android version you get out of the box—the new tablet comes with Android 12 instead of 10.

The original S6 Lite was upgraded to Android 12 a few months ago, and it’s due for another update (and a year of security patches after that). Given the outdated technology, it’s unclear what type of upgrade schedule the 2022 model may anticipate.

The price is another thing we noticed: the 4/64GB model costs €400, which is €20 more than the original did two years ago (that could be a variation in regional pricing).

Also, there isn’t a 128GB or LTE version, which might be due to the fact that the slate was just released and merchants are currently updating their online inventory (the 2022 edition isn’t yet available on Samsung Italy).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) features a 10.4″ LCD with a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels and an S Pen. It has a 7,040mAh battery and a Snapdragon 720G CPU (with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a microSD card).
