Jennifer Aniston received a follow from Johnny Depp on Instagram shortly after she began following him on the photo and video sharing platform.

As he began appearing in court in a lawsuit involving his ex wife Amber Heard, Depp’s Instagram account saw a dramatic increase in followers.

On Instagram, the actor has more than 16.5 million followers.

After accusing him of abuse, the 58-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star is suing Heard, 35, for defamation.

Depp has accused Heard, who is also an actor, of defaming him in a December 2018 Washington Post opinion piece about being a domestic abuse survivor.

The trial, which is in its second week and is anticipated to run six weeks, is being overseen by a state court judge in Fairfax County, Virginia.
