Suspects in a Texas gas station heist were apprehended owing to a GPS tracking device hidden

Thanks to a GPS monitor embedded in the stolen money, Texas police were able to trace gas station convenience store robbery suspects’ every step, leading to their eventual capture after a high-speed chase.

According to WOAI-TV, an armed suspect reportedly held up a Circle K at 11 p.m. Monday in the 5900 block of Gibbs Sprawl Road, near Rittiman Road on San Antonio’s Northeast Side.

According to KENS5, after reportedly shoving a pistol in the store clerk’s face and demanding money from the drawer, the suspect raced out with the stolen cash and left with his getaway driver. However, the two guys were unaware that a GPS tracker in their haul let authorities monitor them turn by turn.

As the cops approached the suspects, they discovered the tracker and threw it out a window. They then came to a halt in the automobile and sought to flee. One of the accused was apprehended.

The other managed to flee before police tracked him down to a neighboring mobile home, where he surrendered calmly after a brief confrontation. The tracker was discovered in someone’s front yard, still operational and with some money attached. Both defendants were arrested for aggravated robbery.
