German police stop a teen school ‘Nazi attack’

German investigators said a school bomb plot was disrupted on Thursday, as they apprehended a 16-year-old accused of organising a “Nazi terror assault.”

“The police prevented a nightmare,” said Herbert Reul, North Rhine-interior Westphalia’s minister.

Overnight, police in Essen raided the teen’s room, arresting him and discovering multiple bombs as well as anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim literature.

According to Reul, officers did not uncover any detonators.

The suspect reportedly intended to attack his present school or another where he had previously studied.

He is also suspected of having a psychological problem with suicidal inclinations, according to Reul.

“All democrats have a common task to fight against racism, brutalisation and hate,” NRW deputy premier Joachim Stamp stated, thanking police for “preventing a suspected Nazi terror attack.”

While detectives continue to search his residence for evidence, the suspect is being questioned.
