A photo of a snake catcher clutching a 13-foot-long king cobra that he caught in India is circulating on social media.
According to an Indian news outlet, a farmer named Saidarao phoned the Eastern Ghats Wildlife Society and gave snake catcher Venkatesh the details of the reptile hiding in the palm oil plantation.
The king cobra was captured and returned into the wild.
It is important to note that snake catchers use both simple and life-threatening methods to capture the reptiles.
A startling video earlier this week showed a man grabbing a massive king cobra with his bare hands on a road.
A startling video earlier this week showed a man grabbing a massive king cobra with his bare hands on a road.
Locals said the snake, which was 4.5 metres (nearly 14 feet) long and weighed more than 10 kilos, slithered into a palm plantation and tried to hide in a septic tank.
The king cobra resisted all attempts to capture it in the film, and at one point, it surged forward with its jaw open, but Naewhaad moved out of the way.
The king cobra was securely released in its natural environment after being caught, according to the snake catcher. He believes the snake was hunting for its partner because another cobra was just slain by villagers.
