The Kuwaiti emir accepted the government’s resignation on Tuesday, according to the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
According to KUNA, the directive instructs the administration to act as a caretaker until a new cabinet is constituted.
The resignation will be communicated to Kuwait’s National Assembly, which is the country’s legislative body.
Kuwait’s cabinet announced their resignation to Crown Prince Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on April 5.
On behalf of the emir, the crown prince issued an order appointing Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as prime minister and directing him to form a government on Nov. 23, 2021.
Kuwait formed a new government on December 28, 2021, led by Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
