The most intense fighting is currently taking place in the Donetsk and Luhansk areas, as well as near Kharkiv city. Ukraine uses “special procedures” in the Kherson region to prevent Russia from staging false referendums.
“Right now, our main battleground is Ukraine’s south and east. Indeed, the Russian army had set a broad goal for itself: to immediately consume all of Ukraine, including Kyiv. They are now attempting to divide it into zones, chunks, or parts of regions. They are, in fact, moving, primarily to the east.
In the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, violent battle continues; the entire front line is under fire, and the situation is tough, particularly humanitarian. At the same time, they are attempting to conquer Kherson, as battle in Kharkiv continues. During the statewide marathon, Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar claimed, “They were partly pushed back in the Kharkiv region.”
According to the deputy minister, Ukraine’s Armed Forces not only provide a strong deterrent to the invaders, but also push them out of the temporarily controlled territory of the Kharkiv region.
Malyar described the areas in the Kherson region as having a “really interesting story” going on.
“Russians were unable to seize the areas as quickly as they did in 2014. The local people does not share their enthusiasm. On the contrary, our folks, as well as the state of Ukraine, are staunchly opposed. However, you must understand that we are unable to discuss the manner in which the state may behave in the temporarily seized regions in public. However, the fact that the so-called referendums have yet to take place and cannot take place demonstrates that Ukraine is performing well” Malyar took notice.
