After failing to operate the airport properly during a busy season, which includes the Eid holiday and Umrah season, the board decided to replace the CEO.

According to a statement, the board held an extraordinary meeting on Saturday to review the recent issues at the airport and the solutions that are needed.

Saudi Transport Minister Saleh Al-Jasser authorised an urgent investigation committee into the chaos at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Thursday.

Abo Abah’s new objective was wished success by the board. Abo Abah has a career spanning more than 28 years, during which time he has held numerous leadership positions, including deputy vice president of operations at Riyadh Airports Company.
