Tabu believes narrating the Hindi audiobook edition of the popular graphic novel series “The Sandman” was an opportunity to further explore her strength as a voice artist for someone who grew up listening to the radio. After “Thriller Factory” (2019), a 10-episode series helmed by Anurag Kashyap, Tabu’s second collaboration with Audible is “The Sandman.”

Tabu stated she has always had a special place in her heart for the audio medium, recalling her childhood days when she would listen to diverse stories from Vividh Bharti’s famed radio show “Hawa Mahal.”
In a Zoom interview Tabu said, “I enjoy podcasts, and as a country, we grew up listening to the radio; television and other forms of electronic media came much later. Childhood was all about listening to the radio, at least for my age.”

“There’s a lot of strength and power there, and even for an artist to create, there’s a lot of room, a lot of things you can do with your voice. Every actor has a distinct voice that conveys different things.”
Act I of “The Sandman” was released in Hindi last month by Audible.
