Will sell my clothes to provide cheap flour to KP: PM Shehbaz attends maiden public rally

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday announced that the flour price in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will be made equal to subsidised price of the commodity in Punjab. The premier said the Punjab government, where his son is the chief minister, will soon announce a reduction in the flour price, and they would ensure same is implemented in the KP.

PM Shehbaz addressed his first public gathering in the Shangla district of KP. He is on his maiden visit to the province after assuming the charge.

Addressing the public rally, he said, “I will request the KP chief minister to set the flour price in KP equal to Punjab. If he doesn’t comply with our request, I will sell my clothes to provide flour at the same price.”

He noted that the prices of sugar and flour have been reduced at the utility stores.

PM Shehbaz claimed he would never lie to the nation until he is serving as the Khadim-e-Pakistan, a self-proclaimed title.

He said, “I will seek apology for mistakes and will work day and night as I am a Pakistani first than anything else.”

PM Shehbaz asked the KP government why it didn’t provide free treatment and medicines in the public hospitals despite being in power for eight years. He appealed to the KP chief minister to make treatment and medicines free in all public healthcare facilities across the province. He affirmed, “If the KP chief minister disagrees, I will bear all the expenses as the PM.”

The premier said after his return to power, the provision of free treatment and medicines has been restarted in Punjab. He said the affluent people go for treatment abroad.

PM Shehbaz claimed that upon his return to power, he would make treatment and medicines free in all public healthcare facilities across Pakistan.

He claimed that there was massive corruption in the past four years of the PTI government and the national exchequer was left empty.

He said the ex-PM Nawaz Sharif established power plants for excess production of power but blamed the mismanagement of the recently-ousted PTI government for the recent spell of load-shedding across Pakistan.

Criticising Imran Khan, the premier said Imran Khan doesn’t have anything to sell after his four years’ performance.

He claimed that the PTI government borrowed loans worth Rs24,000 billions during its four-year tenure.

The premier said he went to Saudi Arabia and UAE and asked, “Until when we will keep begging before the world?”

PM Shehbaz announced the establishment of a medical college and other packages for Shangla.

Besides this, the premier assured the people of KP will have no complaint from him over the provision of wheat as long as the provincial government distributes it honestly and transparently.

He asserted that all announced packages will be completed before his next visit to Shangla.
