Yami Gautam Dhar, who has lately appeared in films such as A Thursday and Dasvi, is pleased with the direction her career is taking. “It all started with Uri: The Surgical Strike, which was a tremendous box-office triumph,” Yami explains of this shift in her acting career. In the film, I played an undercover spy, a role that no one had ever seen me do before. That was also the case with Bala, where I was cast as a hilarious, well-written character. These projects merely confirmed that the content of your responsibilities is more important than the length of your duties. Films like these lead to even more incredible opportunities.
On a Thursday, I was the star of the show, as I will be in my upcoming film, Lost. I’ve been waiting for possibilities like these for a long time. So, going forward, I’m going to be extra cautious about what I choose because, after all, I’m asking my audience to believe in what I believe, so I need to be certain.”
