The PML-N-led coalition government has appointed Ashtar Ausaf as the new Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) while WAPDA Chairman Lieutenant General (retd) Muzammil Hussain has resigned from his post.
New AGP
The post had fallen vacant after the resignation of Khalid Jawed Khan who was serving in the key post during the PTI government.
The approval for Ausaf’s appointment as the new AGP was given by Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday.
Ashtar Ausaf had previously served in the position from 2016 to 2018. As the AGP, he co-drafted the 25th constitutional amendment which resulted in the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
