“The scenario has completely changed,” says the UPite. On the one hand, we have logical and realistic films like Badhai Ho, and on the other, we have larger-than-life pictures like KGF, RRR, and Pushpa…, all of which are supported by a compelling tale. Both of them are productive in their own spheres. Masala movie ka zamana khatam ho gaya! But it won’t work if we make high-budget commercial pictures with huge stars that aren’t backed up by a compelling story. The audience has gotten so savvy; showbiz can no longer mislead them.”

After working as an assistant director on films such as Tahelka and Policewala Gunda, he went on to direct Altaf Raza’s famous song Tum To Tehre Pardesi and has since directed a number more films.
