According to NDTV, a dead shark was discovered hanging from the rafters outside Ponte Vedra High School in Florida.
When a group of pupils saw the shark, they were terrified.
Students took some images and gave them to local news organisations. One of the pupils, who declined to be identified, stated that the incident was a senior student’s joke.
On Wednesday, a group of five pupils from the school hung the shark in the school courtyard, according to officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC).

The shark was reportedly caught on Tuesday night. Before being hung, it was frozen.
It could be a sandbar shark, according to Jim Gelsleichter, associate professor of biology and director of the University of North Florida’s Coastal and Marine Biology Flagship Program.
“That is a prohibitive species in Florida, and we are unable to land those particular species,” he explained.
The photographs are being studied by FWCC marine fishery biologists in order to identify the shark species.
