At New Road on Friday, Stokes took the Worcestershire bowlers to the cleaners with 17 sixes and eight fine boundaries.
This was Stokes’ first outing after being named New England Test captain following Joe Root’s recent decision to step down from the position.
Following back-to-back series losses against Australia in the Ashes (4-0) and the West Indies away, Root was heavily chastised.
Stokes’ goal would be to assist England improve their results and move up the World Test Championship (WTC) table, where they are currently in last place with only one win from 13 matches.
