The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has criticized damage at the Yonkerbos War Cemetery in Nijmegen, in the Netherlands. This was said in a Twitter statement by the ministry.
“The destruction at the Jonkerbos War Cemetery in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, is highly condemned. We regard this behaviour as a heinous disrespect to the memory of WWII victims as well as a provocation, including against Ukraine “According to the statement.
Unidentified individuals in the Netherlands staged a provocation and vandalised the Yonkerbos War Cemetery in Nijmegen.
Vandals spray painted Azov insignia and the Ukrainian flag there, according to Russian propagandists.
Former Azov Regiment commander Maksym Zhorin denied involvement in the vandalism and stated movement representatives reject any harm to World War II monuments.
The goal of this vandalism, according to Zhorin, is to resolve the disagreement and quarrel amongst the peoples.
